Who To Expect at Free Comic Book Day Mini-Con
It all starts at 9 am. Not only are we giving away more than 15,000 free comics, we're also showcasing the talents of numerous local artists, writers, comic book creators, and just plain cool organizations -- for example, the roller derby athletes of the Sac City Rollers, the wrestlers of Supreme Pro Wrestling, the cosplayers of the West Coast Avengers, and Darth Vader's 501st Legion, and many others.
New at this year's Free Comic Book Mini-Con: Podcasters! Talk with the gents of Fist Full of Potions at FCBD Mini-Con 2014. Also for the second time, we're celebrating Free Comic Book Month -- 5 Saturdays full of free comics and related items. To participate, pick up a Free Comic Book Month Passport at the shop on Free Comic Book Day.
EmpiresCV.tv is almost 2 years old. Ben's videos of what's new each week have been a fun and easy way to keep up on what's new in comic books, graphic novels and collected editions, and sometimes even toys. Plus, we always have some sort of event at the shop, from Free Comic Book Day to webcomic workshops to SCCG meetups.
New EmpiresCV.tv Comic Book Review Series
We're always trying new things here at the shop. This year we're adding some new video series. Our first new series comes from Kris Saldana, comic book afficionado, and is currently called: "Kris & John Review Comics." The "John" in Kris & John is just boy humor for toilet, since the reviews take place in our bathroom. Yes, we have a bathroom and customers can use it, haha! The series will evolve over time, as all things do. We know you enjoy Ben's weekly videos and we hope you'll enjoy hearing another perspective on what's new each week.
What Is Next for EmpiresCV.tv?
We're looking to add a weekly series that features a woman's perspective to comic books later this year. If you're interested, please let us know in the comments.
