Moon Knight and Morbius

On a recent appearance on Good Day Sacramento, Cody Stark and I talked about the Morbius movie and the Moon Knight television series on Disney+. You can watch the video below or read the highlights right here.

Morbius

I have not seen Morbius, so I cannot comment on it, but I'm hearing a lot of the same: Some people really enjoy it; other people have some complaints about it. But overall, it's right across the board. They say it's a fun action movie. And at the same time, it's gotten people involved in the comics and they want to find out where he's coming from and what he's all about.

Morbius is a Spider-Man villain from the 70s. Over the years he's become more like he is in the movie--an anti-hero trying to find a way to redeem himself.

I really recommend going back to the actual classic stuff. Find some of the 90s stuff. And of course, he has a new mini that ended just a little bit ago. It's more modern as opposed to some of the classic Spider-Man stories that, of course, featured Blade.

Moon Knight

It's beautiful. When Oscar Isaac is playing the nerdy persona. I almost didn't even recognize him the first time I saw him. Then when he turns into Marc Spector, it's just a subtle change but it's a totally different thing.

There's a lot of great Moon Knight material. There's the Jeff Lemire stuff, the Max Bemis material, and the Bendis stuff, to name a few. The Jeff Lemire run of Moon Knight is my favorite. I love those.

You've got all these classic runs and they're collecting them in volumes, so you can get the entire thing in one and find out more about Mark Spector.

But what you really want to do is jump into the current stuff. He has a series going on right now that is absolutely wonderful. And it's only 10 issues and you can get the first trade you can get this in any comic book shop.

Of course, watch that show because they're doing a great job with it.
