Sacramento's Newest Children's Books Authors

UPDATED: 11/28/2022

About a year ago,  I challenged myself to write and self-publish a children's book. I decided to write about the pugs, of course. On top of that, I had to bring along a friend, so Ronnie Donnie started a book too.  We wrote them here in the shop.

Finally those books are completed.

Pug Day With Rolly Polly & Captain Dylan

In Pug Day With Rolly Polly & Captain Dylan, the reader gets to see what the pugs' day is like, from home to work and back. It's a playful book that I hope your children will enjoy. The book is illustrated by Sacramento artist Davey Turner. Copies are available in the shop and from ContinuumPress.com. It’s also available digitally as a Kindle book.

I've started a new email newsletter to discuss my creative work. If you're a fan or just curious, please check it out on Substack.

More Than Anything & Everything

In Ronnie's book, More Than Anything & Everything, a mother takes her child on an imaginative tour through nature, space, oceans, and more, to show how great her love is. Sacramento artist Jen Monson illustrated it.

This month, both books are available in the shop. My book costs $11.99. You can get Ronnie's book here for $9.99.

Sacramento Children’s Books Authors

Now, among Sacramento’s children’s books authors we can count Ronnie Donnie, and me, Ben C. Schwartz.

After writing this book and getting in the shop, I found out that local Gregory Bray also writes children's books. You can find them online.

I'm not sure my book or Ronnie's book would have happened without inspiration from Sacramento's own, Ryan Miller. Years ago, Ryan started something: he wrote a children's book here at the shop. You can purchase the hardcover of Ryan's book, How To Feed Your Parents, online. It's the hilarious story of young Matilda trying to get her parents to explore foods beyond chicken nuggets. It's a wonderful book.

I hope you'll check out and support local authors of all sorts. See you in the shop.
