Ciara Cumiskey is a visual artist and graphic designer based in northern California.

During the day she works in Parks & Recreation - creating graphics, communications, videos, curating and facilitating art shows. From Caravaggio to cartoons, high renaissance to pop art, Ciara has always had a binary fascination with the very old and very new. As a kid she was in love with Nancy Drew and superheroines. As a young adult she was smitten with anime, fantasy, and science fiction and American history. Today she sorts ideas through a lens of pop culture and art history fandom that keeps her thoughtful and reflective. Her thirst for art was influenced by her creative mother, aunt, and grandmother that made time to craft and create amidst long work days and weeks.  She has been painting since 2011. In July 2020 Ciara executed her first mural inside the West Sacramento Recreation Center. In her spare time Ciara enjoys running, reading, improv comedy, and cats.
